Bhagwan Mahaveer Wildlife Sanctuary, 440 Acres Park

The Bhagwan Mahaveer wildlife sanctuary is the biggest and widest wildlife sanctuary in Goa. It is secured in the wester Ghats due to its flora and fauna and it is spread across the western Ghats for about 440 acres of land.

Dudhsagar waterfalls are one of the tallest and longest waterfalls in India, with the great thickness of water flowing through the tires of the well inclined humongous rocks. The beauty of it is irresistible one must definitely go there.

Devils Canyon, this canyon is formed from the water of the Dudhsagar waterfalls, the main trail of this starts from the Collem entry side.

Tambdi Surla temple, the temple inside the sanctuary is said to be a very old temple that still stands strong with Lord Shiva inside being prayed to for a long time.  The temple is carved with lotus-like structure making it even more attractive.

There is a Tambdi waterfall a little further from the Tambdi temple which is also a must-see in the visit there.  A local guide can take you there it is not much visible because it is small and covered with a large number of trees and plants.

How to reach the Bhagwan Mahaveer wildlife sanctuary?

The Bhagwan Mahaveer wildlife sanctuary can be reached by train, road or flight.

One can always go to Panjim in Goa, from there the sanctuary is 70kms away you can use a bus or a private car / rental car and reach the Kullem village which is about 6kms away from the sanctuary.

By rail, one can use the Kullem railway station, using a train that comes until there and trek their way towards the Dudhsagar waterfalls and then reach the sanctuary too. Or use a car until a certain point. One can use the Amravati express, Goa express or Mail Express, and more.

By flight, one can fly until the Dabolim airport which is in Goa, and from there use a rental car until the sanctuary. Rental cars can be useful as they can be preferably used according to the usage and flexibility.
