Know the History of Golconda Fort

The Golconda Fort was built almost 900 years ago on a hilltop in Hyderabad by the Rajah of Warangal. It carries multiple names “Shepherd’s Hill”, “Golla Konda” but it was originally called  “Mankal”. Built by the Kakatiyas and later restored by Rani Rudrama Devi this Fort is the house to almost the entire world’s most famous diamonds including the Kohinoor. It belongs to 16th-century constructions.

The Golconda Fort is said to have Nawabi culture after Kakatiya’s possession of the Fort was by the Bahmani dynasty and last was the Qutub Shahi and the ruler Mohammad Quli Qutub Shah of this dynasty was who made the Fort more magnificent. Then in the 17th century, it was called the diamond market which had the most beautiful architecture and beautifully placed lawns. This place has had a special characteristic when there is any high pitch sound in the fort it has an echo, this feature was discovered in the 17th century. Is there a best time or season to visit Golconda Fort?

Yes, as it is a monumental structure made up of rock which does get it hot in the summer season so preferably somewhere from September to March is recommended but it isn’t compulsory as it is just s beautiful in summer despite the heat.
